Sadio Mané Speaks Out on Mohamed Salah’s Dip in Form: “He’s Been Burdened With Far Too Much”

In a candid and emotional interview this week, former Liverpool ace Sadio Mané spoke out about the recent dip in form of his close friend and ex-teammate Mohamed Salah. With supporters and analysts questioning what has happened to the Egyptian star, Mané chose to give his own insight into what Salah is currently enduring.

Speaking from his training base, Mané stressed that Salah’s struggles have nothing to do with talent, but rather the heavy pressure, fatigue, and expectations he’s carried for years.

“People forget Mo is human. He’s carried Liverpool on his back for so long,” Mané noted.
“Season after season, everyone relies on him to produce. Eventually, that kind of pressure gets to you.”

Mané explained that Salah has been dealing with an overload of duties on and off the field—from being Liverpool’s main attacking threat to fulfilling the demands of the Egyptian national team.

“He plays almost every game, barely rests. Fans see the goals, but they don’t see the tiredness,” he said.
“Mo pushes himself endlessly. Sometimes you just need a moment to breathe.”

The Senegalese forward is confident that Salah’s dip is only temporary, insisting the winger will bounce back once he recovers his rhythm and mental calm.

“Everyone faces tough periods—me, Mo, anyone,” he continued.
“But knowing Mo, he’ll rise again. His mentality is too strong for him to stay down.”

Mané also rejected claims that Salah is past his peak, saying such suggestions are “very disrespectful.”

“Mo is still among the best in the world. One quiet spell doesn’t change that,” he concluded.
“What he needs now is support, not criticism.”

As Liverpool work their way through the season, Mané’s comments shed light on the unseen pressures top players deal with behind the scenes. And for Salah, the message from his former colleague couldn’t be clearer: this tough period will pass, and the goals will come again.
