Roberto Firmino makes Mohamed Salah feelings clear in response to Liverpool row

Liverpool legend Roberto Firmino has warmly responded to the prospect of Mohamed Salah and Arne Slot resolving their differences. The Brazilian’s reaction came following the Reds’ head coach’s media briefing on Friday morning.

During his pre-Brighton press conference, Slot confirmed that he will be having a crucial face-to-face discussion with Salah. “I will have a conversation with him this morning and the outcome of that conversation will determine how it looks tomorrow,” the head coach clarified.

“What I need is a conversation with him and the next time I speak about Mo should be with him and not in here. There’s not much more I can say. I speak to him today and the outcome determines how things will look tomorrow.”

The update was shared online by Fabrizio Romano, among others. Upon seeing the reporter’s Instagram post, Firmino quickly posted a comment consisting solely of clapping, red love heart and praying emojis.

Firmino’s response could suggest that he supports the dialogue between Salah and Slot, potentially paving the way for the 33-year-old’s return to the Liverpool squad, reports the Liverpool Echo.

A Premier League and Champions League victor with the Reds from 2015 to 2023, Firmino enjoyed a close relationship with fellow forward Salah. Earlier this year, the Brazilian expressed his joy at seeing both the club and player clinch another English league title.

“I’m happy for Liverpool and for what Mohamed Salah has achieved,’ he said. “I think we have a great friendship, and we’ve built a beautiful history together. If he’s watching me now, I’m very proud of him and his friendship.”

However, with Salah’s future at Liverpool currently uncertain and rumors linking him with a move to the Saudi Pro League, it seems he could follow in Firmino’s footsteps. The Brazilian made a similar move two years ago when he left the Reds at the end of his contract.

He signed for Al-Ahli, where he had a challenging stint. The 34-year-old was dropped from the club’s domestic league squad midway through last season, but played a crucial role in securing the club’s first-ever AFC Champions League title.

Firmino then made another move during the recent summer transfer window, this time to Qatar-based Al-Sadd.
